Hace 50 años Elvis grabó más de 30 canciones en apenas 5 días. Unas sesiones que ahora ven la luz en un nuevo recopilatorio.
Era el verano de 1970, y Elvis, que estaba en lo más alto del éxito, con seis espectáculos récord en el Astrodome de Houston y su hit The Wonder of You en listas, llegó a Nashville para grabar. Durante lo que se conoció como las «marathon sessions» , Elvis grabó la asombrosa cantidad de más de 30 canciones en solo cinco días en el famoso RCA Studio B de Nashville.
De esas sesiones, que tuvieron lugar del 4 al 8 de junio, surgió la mayor parte del álbum Elvis Country, incluidos los cortes It’s Your Baby, You Rock It, The Fool y Funny How Time Slips Away, escrito por Willie Nelson. También grabó You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me y una versión de Bridge Over Troubled Water, ambos incluidos en el álbum de noviembre de 1970 That’s the Way It Is.
Ahora, una nueva compilación de cuatro discos reúne los masters de aquellas sesiones maratonianas. From Elvis in Nashville se lanzará el 20 de noviembre a través de RCA / Legacy Recordings.
